MUMBAI: The Government of India (GoI) has announced an auction to switch its securities maturing in April, May, June and December this year to longer dated notes due in November 2024 and October 2029 with an aggregate amount of Rs 25,000 crore. In a press release on its website, RBI said that Rs 20,000 crore of bonds will be exchanged for the 6.45 per cent security maturing on October 7, 2029

RBI also has a non-competitive bidding facility for retail investors for purchasing Dated Government Securities. Non-competitive bids are accepted upto 5 per cent of the notified amount in the specified auctions of dated securities. RBI announces a half yearly auction calendar for auctions of G-Secs, which is also available on their website. The government, through RBI, has also decided to auction a 7-year G-sec paper, aggregating Rs 4,000 crore, that is an amount less than what it is in the 10-year paper.
